It may have been a few months since we last posted on the blog, but I can promise you: this list of summer outfit ideas is worth the wait. We have been working HARD behind the scenes to launch our summer collection and I have to be honest with you, it's my favourite one to date. Whether your summer plans are filled with wedding invitations or casual brunch dates with your girlfriends, we have created the perfect feminine staples for every occasion.

What do we mean by wardrobe staples? Here at Betty x Bow, we believe in creating a conscious capsule wardrobe. If the thought of a capsule wardrobe makes you sweat, don't worry! We aren't strict and we won't make you keep five t-shirts and donate the rest. What we do believe in, however, is being intentional with each piece you add to your closet. As a small business based in Ottawa, we don't have the luxury of coming up with 412 pieces in every collection. Instead, we add just a few of what we are sure will be your new favourites, and show you how to wear them just about anywhere.

An added bonus? Nobody will believe how comfortable you are. 

 

The Molly Blouse: Best for Drinks with the Girls

You know when you ask your friends what they are wearing and they say "jeans and a nice top"? The Molly Blouse is that top. And it's also the top you are going to want to wear on days you want to take it up a notch (whether that's a girls brunch or a zoom happy hour). The material is a 100% Linen with an antique wash finish so it's incredibly comfortable (and so soft!) but it doesn't look it for a second. It's also incredibly lightweight so you can stay as cool as possible on all the hot summer days we are hoping for.

I have a special kind of love for how versatile these paperbag linen shorts are. I always try to add a signature feminine detail to each piece I design and for the Molly shorts it's a subtle slit and of course, pockets.

The Millie Top: The Perfect Capsule Wardrobe Summer T-Shirt

Perfect is a bold claim but we stand by it. If you could only have one t-shirt, you would want The Millie Top in every colour (and you are in luck, because there are 6 to choose from!). We actually launched this capsule wardrobe staple last year but after customer feedback we added an extra two inches to the length and the response has been incredible! I mentioned earlier that as a small business, we can't launch huge collections every season. But what we can do, is listen to our customers.
